Yup, why not create your own tunnel into the IPv6 world? At gogoNET’s Freenet6 you can do just that. Sign up and download your own gogo6 client and connect via tunnel to enable an IPv6 network for yourself.

Then, as the post title would seggest, the fun doesn’t stop there! Head over to Hurricane Electric to get some certifications now that you’ve put the effort in. Starting as easy a a tiny questionnaire to prove you understand the very basics of IPv6 and get your own Newbie cert and continuing by level to show your current level of IPv6 readiness and use.

Of course this just isn’t good enough for me so finally I found the current best way to fix and stop it from happening…

Go to the Settings>Applications>Development and turn on USB Debugging. That’s it. Connecting via USB afterwards will need a new driver but it will sort that out the first time and you won’t have to worry about it.

I’d like to think I’ve been very accepting with all the measures they have taken to protect their specials by country and overly embellish the payment system as time goes by, but I must be a bit tired now cos I just snapped a little:

I have already had to create multiple PayPal accounts because steam are turning ms control freak wannabes and not allowing me to use my UK credit card while staying with family in South Africa… but now I’m not allowed to purchase with this new account all of a sudden because it is different to my steam email? I don’t believe I should have to change my life around in every online aspect each time steam feel insecure about something. but still i do all i can to try bend over backward to accommodate a system which seems to be moving backwards now and even after PayPal confirm everything is in order, I still get: Your purchase has not been completed.
“The payment processor has reported an authorization failure. Please select a different payment method.” (i would like to assume the attempted “payment processor” is in some form of beta because this super-multi step purchase system is getting beyond ridiculous!!!)
Please of course note that this is after PayPal send perfect confirmation.
What exactly am I supposed to do now?!? I refuse to use a credit card… I am in South Africa where there is far too much fraud and don’t agree with the credit lifestyle anyway (can you say credit crunch)
besides, does my account look like an account that should be given these hassles?
So now please, in your infinite wisdom, what can i do do help your system do it’s job and accept money from me?

Just for interest sake, I currently have 266 games on my steam account… surely they will take my frustration into consideration? We’ll have to see…

Anyway, feel free to rebuke me or back me up, i’d like to see if anyone else has these hassles.

I just seemed to have spent forever typing out my domain and username everytime the connection to exchange or the wireless loses connectivity momentarily, so I put this little thing together , though not to get around the problem, to help make it more bearable.

Essentially it’s just a tool that you add lines of text to and then click the line which holds the text you need and it places that text on the clipboard.

Now of course you don’t want to have to go and open the thing every time you need it, that negates the purpose of the tool in the first place, but on the other hand, if you’re going to have a list of text on screen, might as well just have notepad open… So I threw in a a little transparency and related functionality to help with that. Here‘s an examplge background to use (remember to rename to ‘bg.png’)

There is more functionality but I won’t go into it here, to read up on it, press F1 when the tool is running.

Now of course the link you are given is a bit outdated so I’m just posting the quick solution…

Rather than the security vulnerability of requiring admin rights for your app, just give access to the particular namespace to your account.

Run a command prompt as admin and run the following command:
netsh http add urlacl url=http://+:8000/ user=MYMACHINE\UserName

The tools I will be using are pretty generic but just so you know, I’m using 3D Studio Max 2010 to get this effect.

First of all, of course, start a new scene and toggel the viewport so you can see top, left, front and perspective.. well, you don’t have to, but that’s the way I do it.

Now, go to the geometry selection under the create tab and in standard primitives click the plain.

On the front viewport now, draw the plain to the sorta size you want your flag to be. Of course you cna change this later so don’t worry too much on that point.

Now go to the modify tab and increase the number or segments… some people use 20 (width and height) but depending on the speed of your system, use up to 50… mesh smooth doesn’t do quite what you want in this so we want to get the initial polygon count up.

Now let’s add the mesh select modifier from the modifier list and click the vertex button. You’ll now have all the vertices hi-lighted, likely blue.

select all the vertices other than the first column on the left… these will be the holding point of the flag while the selected will now be given flex.

So yup, you guessed it… while these are selected, go to the modifiers again and choose flex.

Now move to the bottom of the flex modifier’s options and enable Show Springs (just so we can see when the work is done). Also expand flex in the list and choose weight’s and springs.

Go back up and click Create Simple Soft Body. You will now see the springs in the viewports. Uncheck show springs.

Go back to the create tab and select space warps.
Under forces click Wind, draw it in one of the viewports and rotate it face along the flag (size doesn’t matter here)

Select the flag again and go to modifiers again (flex should still be open)
Move down to forces and click add… then select the wind object.
Now select Centre under Flex and move the focus to the position that gives you the look you like… most likely toward the holding side of the flag.

From here it’s totally up to you to play with the levels to get the specific look you want…
The variables to play with are the parameters under flex, adn on the wind object look at Strength, Turbulence and Scale (mainly).

Move your animation slider to see the effect in action and render to your hearts content

1st - Spain; 2nd Netherlands; 3rd Germany

6 cloves
4 Tablespoons/sugar cubes
Rum to pour over sugar
4 cups red wine (dry)
1 orange to zest
1 lemon to zest
3 cinnamon sticks

Pour red wine into a pot with the cinnamon, cloves and zest from the orange and lemon. Let it warm up (but don’t cook it, just warm it).

Put some kind of metal grate over the pot to place the sugar cubes on. Pour a little rum on the sugar and light on fire (be extremely careful please!!). Let the sugar drip into the wine. (If this seems too unsafe for you, just drop 4 tablespoons sugar into the wine mixture and add a dash of rum in).

Serve Hot

I was in 2 minds about writing about it, but it deserves to be known that to test the upcoming certification exams, Microsoft are setting beta exams which will run from the end of the month (31 March) until the 20th of April… FOR FREE!!!

And to add to that, passing the exam does in fact give you the actual qualification! Makes sense, but still feels too good to be true. Now it’s just time to wait until registration is opened and we can help ourselves by helping them

(Well, not literally… but maybe)

• First of all, you’re going to need a boot disc/device of some sort
  My favourite lately is a USB boot disc of Ubuntu…
  *I wonder if I should just move all my files and settings there and forget about dual booting….*

• Boot into your boot disc now (I use disc now because it is short, regardless of  whether you’re booting from USB, CD, DVD or whatever;) and open a terminal window.

• Now we need root access so, assuming you’re running uBuntu, throw in:

sudo -i

(if you’ve gone the knoppix route, another fav, this’ll do the trick: ‘su -’ )

• Now we need to mount your currently ‘absent’ system so create an empty folder in the temp or media folder.
  If you have your /boot/ directory on a separate partition create a folder for it as well:

mkdir /media/root
mkdir /media/root/boot

• Now we just need to link, load and prepare to use your filesystem so run the following:

mount /dev/sda3 /media/root
mount -o bind /dev /media/root/dev
mount -o bind /proc /media/root/proc
cp /proc/mounts /media/root/etc/mtab

• Now finally we can enter the newly prepared environment:

chroot /media/root/ /bin/bash/

• Now, run grub and finish it’s repair (if you’re not in uBuntu you may need to /sbin/grub)

grub
root (hd0,2)
setup (hd0)
quit

• Now  reboot and you’re done!!! (sorry, no pretty pictures this time…)
